Non, non, je ne suis pas dans un restaurant de la rue St. Anne à Paris...je suis bel et bien au Japon! Juste un petit message histoire de vous faire envie... Seulement quelques jours passés ici et déjà mille aventures culinaires à vous conter. Allez, je vous met déjà un peu l'eau à la bouche avec ces quelques photos et anecdotes amusantes sur les mœurs gastronomiques japonais :
- dans beaucoup de restaurants, il y a une petite machine à l'entrée sur laquelle on essaie de déchiffrer du japonais et des numéros pour payer et choisir son plat. On donne ensuite le ticket au cuistot!
- heureusement qu'il y a les "mihon" à montrer du doigt presque partout - ces faux plats en plastique très réalistes - car sinon on serait incapable de commander quoi que ce soit...
- dans les restaurants traditionnels on mange par terre sur les tatamis, et sans chaussures of course!
- les japonais raffolent de pâtisseries, les rues en regorgent, et les gâteaux improbables sont de toutes formes et couleur...
- à table on ne vous sert pas des carafes d'eau mais du thé, chaud ou froid. C'est gratos et à volonté!
- les japonais mangent les pommes avec des cuillères en plastique, non non ce n'est pas une blague...

No, no, I am not standing in one of St. Anne's street Japanese restaurants in Paris, I am...in Japan! I've been here for only a few days and I have already 10 000 culinary stories to tell you. I'm going to whet your appetite with these few pictures and some funny Japanese gastronomical anecdotes :
- in lots of restaurants in Tokyo, there is a machine at the entrance - where we try to decipher some Japanese letters - on which you buy your meal and get a ticket that you then give to the chef...
- thank god every restaurant has its "mihon", those fake plastic plates with the exact meal represented on it, otherwise we'd really be in trouble to order...
- in traditionnal restaurants, you eat on the floor, on tatamis, and with no shoes of course!
- Japanase adore pastries, you can find all sorts of incredible shops with strange colorful cakes you've never seen before
- you get served tea instead of water, hot or cold, everywhere, and it's free and refillable!
- I've seen a few persons eat apples with a (plastic) spoon...yes indeed...
